Time to grow some corals!

This week was nothing special but working on homework and group projects. But, this weekend I got the opportunity to outplant some corals in the bay for our marine biology project! It was really great to do something hands on and our graduate student leader taught us how to transplant, and place corals on a reef like they do in coral restoration projects. Our project will be looking at predation effects on coral fragments to determine if we were to start coral restoration projects in the Virgin Islands, would extra protection need to be built to keep the fragments safe. We took some amazing photos that I will need to add once they are downloaded so stay tuned!
